About The Event
Oktoberfest originated in 1810 as a royal wedding celebration for Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen. The citizens of Munich were invited to join in the festivities, which included horse races, food, and beer. Over the years, the event evolved into the large-scale festival we know today.
